I need to separate a couple of fittings that use a connection similar to the fuel line fittings at the engine. Its a flair with a circular spring embedded. What is that tool called to remove that kind of fitting? Is there another way to remove it using ordinary tools?

TIA,

Marc

not without breaking it... the tools are pretty cheap (plastic). They have them at most auto parts stores. Not sure what they're called...

You can get "fuel line and air conditioning line disconnector" tools at any Sears for about 10 bucks.

I am sure that some autoparts stores sell/rent them out as well.

Springlock fitting tool, believe it or not. I got a cheapo plastic set at Pep Boys for $3.95. Worked fine.

All the best,
