I've got a 68 302. When looking at the front of the engine, most water pump connections come off in a 4 o'clock direction. Mine comes off at about an 8 o'clock direction. Anybody got any suggestions on hoses that can be used to connect to the donor radiator on the bottom?

tom,

I would grab a piece of wire and bend it to the angles you need and start hitting the auto parts store. You may need to use two different hoses with a splice. Don't let them talk you into using the plastic splice piece, you can always just use a piece of stainless tube.

And don't forget to measure the water pump outlet and the rad. inlet I.D.

hope this helps.

chris.

Older (pre-1970 I think) applications had the water inlet on the passenger's side of the pump. You could replace the pump with one that has the inlet on the driver's side.

Thanks thunderball, I forgot about the wire trick. I'll try that tomorrow.

PAB, this is a new pump and I'd rather keep it and do a little engineering. Heck, it wouldn't be any fun if everything just bolted right up, would it? :D
