Okay, the 3 day sale is going on. I'm trying to decide on which is the better deal. Looking at buying the aluminum radiator or the Autometer gauges. I have a 3-row in my mustang now but it seems to run a little hotter than I would like. I'm leaning towards getting the radiator now since it comes earlier in the build process and hope for another sale on the gauges later.

Any thoughts?

I'm facing the same decision. Since I'm VERY early in the build the radiator seems to make most sense. It's reduced from $299 to $219, a pretty significant drop. It seems these sales may be occurring with some frequency so I'm hoping the guages show up again in the Spring.

My 2 cents...

What Fred says. At least when you're in the earlier build stages you can get the fan, shroud and overflow bottle bolted up as unit ready to install later. Sometimes this change of pace in the build is satisfying.

Unless you are really adding a lot of HP to the 5.0, the 3 row Mustang radiator is plenty of cooling. (yes is needs to be clear, or just buy a new one, they are only $135) The Mustang 3 row was designed to handle all the heat of the car, plus its airconditioning on in 100+ degree weather. If you plan on Autometer gauges, it is a lot easier to wire everything and do the dash setup now than later. I would go with gauges as you will want them, and it is unlikely you will need the radiator.
