I'm buying a 75% complete roadster from a guy in CO. The car has never been titled, and he has the original MSO from FFR in his name. Kansas is telling us that he cannot sign over the MSO since he is not a dealer.

Any suggestions???

I got some resolve on this issue. The best thing to do is involve the KS Highway Patrol EARLY and get their input. A guy near Salina KS is going to do my inspection and he's the one that approves/rejects the paperwork to push the VIN and title thru.

A big WHEW!

I finally got ready to tag/title my car. I picked the small County where my parents lived and took in all my paperwork:

-Original MSO (NOT SIGNED or modified since it was originally assigned to the guy I bought the kit from)
-KS Hi-Po inspection paperwork (with my new KSHP assigned VIN)
-Proof of Insurance
-Bill of Sale (signed and stamped by a notary)
-checkbook (dang sales tax)

Got the tag no problem and they sent in the paperwork into the State on Dec 28......Praying that no problems would occur.....

SUCCESS! And only 3 days later!!

All I can say for other people going down this route is keep everything: receipts, documents, paperwork, inspections, etc.

One more thing is that they registered my car as a 2009.

Make: ASVE (assembled vehicle I guess)
Model: ____ (left blank)
