Does anyone put any trim on the firewall around the heater or is just a bead of silicone?

which heater? I have the Tri-States heater box, and I just put a little bead of silicone around it. I've also seen it framed with some thin aluminum angle.

Tri State's. I looked at your picture and assumed you just did a bead of silicone. Didn't know if anyone did anything different to dress it up - although, its far enough back under the hood that you really don't see it do you?

You don't really see it unless you purposefully stick your head in the engine compartment to look.

Well, I've done it (stuck my head inside the engine compartment to look) - but I'm one of those guys that looks at every little thing (and still can't figure it all out).
