wonder what is the minimun clerance you can get by with and not melt the body around the cut out

Mine has about 1/2" around the top and it's been fine so far.

I have seen two cars with minimal clearance, maybe 1/8 inch and there was no problem and the cars have several thousand miles on them.

I have at least 1/4 clearance from my pipes to the fiberglass, but not more than 1/2 inch.

I had about 1/4 in. at the top on both sides and discovered that the torque of my BB was causing the header to hit on the drivers side. I increased the clearance to 1/2 in. on the drivers side before it went to the body shop and am hoping this will be enough. If this doesn't work I'm planning on strapping the engine down or using solid mounts.
