I,ve had my top on for several months and have never had it off.In unpredictable climates a top lets you drive a bunch more than you would otherwise.I still avoid rain when possible but I,m not worried about getting caught in a down pour.Even though I don't like the way any of them look,I wouldn't be witout it.For the last couple of months I have been experimenting with A/C.I finally have it operating the way I wanted.I used the station wagon capacity Vinage air blower/evaporator mounted in the trunk. Our summer weather is typically 90-95 degrees with wicked humidity so it's real hard to over cool a car.So far I,m very pleased with the setup.I haven't posted anything to date as I wanted to make sure that this is a worthwhile endeavor rather than post alot of bad info.If there is interest out there I would be glad to share my findings.Pete.

Very interested also. Would like to get the specs on the setup you used and pics. I am considering the smallest unit Vintage Air has combined with an Ape top w/ side curtains. Temp here ranges from mid 80's to mid 90's with high humidity and I want a driver not a perfect sunny day ride. Thanks.

I'm also intending to use the new Vintage Air GEN II Mini unit w/hard top, so I'm interested in all possible solutions. I've only seen one installation to date with the evaporator mounted in a doghouse in the firewall but I've always thought the trunk would be a good option. How about some pics!?

Ooohh!, lots of closet A/Cers ;)
I haven't seen any mention on using the original donor A/C setup (if yours had it). Any ideas why this wouldn't be feasible?

I was thinking that maybe it wouldn't be possible beacuse of the size of the evaporator/blower unit, but Pete just mentioned he has it in the trunk, so why not the original Mustang donor A/C setup?

Interesting thread.

Luis.

For those who want a challenge, you may want to checkout the photos on webshots , especially album 4 and 5. Unit is Vintage Air Gen II. I haven't run all the plumbing yet, but it appears everthing will fit. I dropped the passenger footbox and probably gained a little in that area. Since I'll be running a potato, didn't have to worry about the computer stuff

I've been thinking of putting the A/C in the trunk for weeks now. I would really like to see how you have your hoses run,the compressor mounted and vents. A/C is a must have here in Arizona!!

Thank's
