Ash, I'll admit I totally forgot to call last weekend. Coincidently, I emailed myself a reminder this evening after uploading the video. We'll try for tomorrow, or Friday if that's good.

I cringed all the time your hand was under the chassis bar. Then I thought, had you severed a few fingers you would have told us :lol:.

Thanks Big V., I'm still feeling pumped from the ride.

Don't worry about the fingers, I put the tx in neutral, and foot well on the brake.

There's going to be about 2 inches max. clearance with the body installed, and the
ride-height isn't adjusted yet. We may see some construction on the sidewalk, and
boulevard in the near future. :lol:

Hey Ron, I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. Thank you for the dare, it actually
did put a little fire under by butt, your trash talk was worth the effort. :weight_lift:

Tonight I was able to pull the fuel tank, and check out the leak. It happened
to be a combination of the white gasket that wasn't seated properly, as well
as the sealer that was used around the fitting that didn't adhere to the tank.

I scuffed it up, then cleaned it. Hopefully it will be solid for Saturday, and I
can begin building up the firewall, etc.

It seems as though my fuel cells are fitting properly now. I'm able to get the firewall pieces up against the cage which is awesome. This week will be spent assembling the interior aluminum, and firewall,
as well as cutting the wires to proper length. Hopefully the body will be installed over the weekend so that doors can be fitted, airbox measured, and the remainder of the exhaust figured out.

With that in mind, some time was spent shopping for wheels, and tires. The plan is 18 inch rear diameter, and 17 inch front diameter with the following rim/tire choice. I'll have to check the bolt spacing, etc.,
but I'm thinking this is the style that suits me best! 245/35/17, 305/35/18


We'll see how many times I'll change my mind.

The CCWs are a great choice. I got the 3 piece rims so that we could try different combos of tires and rim sizes on the FFR PDG GTM, and haven't been disappointed. Very nice rims, especially for the price.

Thanks Mike, I checked out the site, and they are very nice rims.

I didn't see anything with a black finish though, or similar spoke design to
the Konig. I'm really drawn to that style at the moment, but I'm not set
in stone. Maybe once I mock up some photoshop images with different
styles, my taste may change.

Another plus is that Konig is sold through my suppliers which gives me a
decent discount. We'll see; a few more weeks until the rims/tires are
required so I'll be window shopping quite a bit now.

FYI-All CCW rims are made to order and can be finished in any color you wish. Anodizing is standard, but I think you can pay extra and get them color matched to whatever you would like. CCW stands for Complete Custom Wheel, and they really are. I'm not trying to push CCW, but since your second picture looks like the CCWs I have, that's why I mentioned it.

Thanks Mike, I didn't know they were custom order rims as well. Hell of a product,
but I'm very close to wrapping up my combo as soon as tech support confirms
max tire width for the rim dimension selected above.


Moving inward now: firewall is coming together, and working in a "permanent" mode, as opposed to temporary patching of pieces.

Just need to grab some more inserts, and matching bolts to finish this section.

The body is back on (for now)! Starting some interior work, and more wiring.

With the center console placed on the dash, you really get a sense of how low you're sitting.
I'll bet parking this car will have quite a learning curve.

It's nice to see the GTM wearing its skin again, but it's also a reminder of how much work there
is to complete. My hands will be full with fitting the doors this weekend. June 1st for registration?
Not looking so good!

Views from the driver's seat. Rear shoulder check seems fine considering most vehicles will be much
higher. The dash mounted gauge pod is making it difficult to see the right, front.



Power distribution panel with cut-off switch, and bus bars. Still need to grab a fuse block
before bolting it all down.



SO MUCH DUST! I need to run this car through the river once, or twice.

Around here we don't go Nuclear with the TRIPLE DOG DARE, unless Mr. Tino fails on the Double Dog Dare, and then he has the audacious Cojones to double down. Not sure if he is TRIPLE DOG DARE STRONG! :evil:

Obviously you've never dealt with Canadians.

Not only are we Triple Dog Dare Strong, we also do Triple Dog Dares nude in a snowstorm! And Tino is even stronger, because he is from Toronto, and therefore a Leafs fan (Oh, the humanity!)

So, like a good Canadian, I'm gonna stick by my countryman and mock him mercilessly if he tries to wriggle free of this one! We don't need no stinkin' Triple Dog Dare! Hey, Tino...no pressure, but I told him its on! Now git to it, and don't embarrass your country!

(I wonder if this is where that old saying came from....A good friend will bail you out of jail. A great friend will be sitting beside you in the cell saying "I can't believe we did that!)

Oh, so this is how it's going to be?! A tall order, however I wont disappoint.

Ordering wheels/tires on Monday, and yes Mike, I've already changed my mind.
This XXR 530 rim stole my heart; a bit more aggressive, and will allow me to run
a 28 inch tire to kill the gearing (a touch) in the G96



Doors (internals) have been started, and soon to be followed by the scissor hinge. I'll get some pics of that mess for sure!

You might want to check your rear suspension arms for angle and clearance with a 28" tire. They will fit statically on jack stands, but once the car is resting on the wheels and at ride height, there may be issues, depending upon how wide you go. Just check it or get a deal with the retailer that they are returnable if they don't fit. They usually have an install rule where if it is installed then it is non-returnable. Problem is, you won't know for sure until you install them. :rolleyes:

This is why the three piece wheels made sense to me. I can change combinations of inner and outer rings until things all fit.

I know it's a bit pricey, but I figured that the three piece wheels would be what I used to figure things out, and then I would order the set that I REALLY wanted. As we need about 6 sets of rims to run a race car, it wasn't really any loss. Also, in racing if an outer gets bent, it is much cheaper to replace than an entire rim. I know much of this may not pertain to your situation, but thought I would just share the methodology we have been using.

Thanks Mike. With the best info at my disposal, and a measuring tape, it appears
the clearance will be fine. The tire is a 305/45/18, and the rim size is 18 x 9.75 ... ummm, can't recall the backspacing, but there is a spacer on the hub currently
which may no longer be needed.


Today was spent messing around with the console, and positioning the switches for best, "feel". Hopefully I'm not forgetting anything! The start buttons will probably get situated to the left of the steering wheel on a panel, or an overhead console. There's not too much space for additional buttons around the gear shifter.

My forearm, and elbow rest on the lower valley of the engine cover, so nothing will be placed in that position. I'd like to install a 12 volt port on the engine cover, but that's
all for that area. Stereo clearance will be tight around the vents, but it should look fine with the trim panel. Sub-woofer is going in the passenger foot well, covered
with a metal grill. They'll get a nice foot massage if nothing else! 7 speakers, and 11 on the volume dial!

Besides the door popper switches (which will have a guarded cover), what have YOU placed on the console that's unique? I'll be checking the build threads very carefully before I cut
anything.

Side scoops, rims, tires, and a bunch of other stuff will arrive by the weekend. New windshield is next. Doors are getting assembled. Ron, the dare is on!
