Sadly, I do not own one of these fine pieces of art but like my name say's.....someday. Hopefully within the next few years I can get started on my dream car.

Hope you guy's don't mind if I stick around and sponge info from ya.

I was a dreamer like you for years. I was finally able to obtain one earlier this year. Every time I see it in my garage I still can't believe it is mine. I love it.

Good luck.

Yup..few YEARS :( . Bought a house a little over a year ago, then a Liberty in January. Gotta start saving them pennies.

Maybe I can get started on the donor tear down? :D Get everything nicey nice for the BIG day?

I'm glad to hear that there are some guy's in my neck of the woods...do believe I saw one of them on the Southern State bout a month ago. When you see them around please let them know that there is a new guy on the board that is always willing to trade cold beers for advice.

Welcome aboard Someday. You and I are pretty much in the same boat. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone in here. I'm here just collecting all the info I can before I build. This is a great board and the people in here are the best. :D

Welcome aboard, and feel free to sponge away! I learned many things here that way, preventing learning the hard way during the build.

Just bought a new Jeep? If you really want an FFR, ditch it and buy something used and inexpensive. I afford my toy cars (Lotus Esprit S4s, now the FFR) with cheap daily drivers. Right now I'm driving a nice BMW 528e that I paid $1050 for.

My girlfriend says I'm an 'enabler'. I don't know what she means.

I'm the same as Mikeyride. Sold a Porsche 911 Turbo and a 1963 Jaguar Mk 2 that had only 28,000 miles from new! Now I 'rough it' in a 1987 Mercedes that I bought off of eBay for $5,000! Life is all about choices. Choos to build the Cobra asap and make a few changes in your fleet to do it.

Thanks for all the replies.

I live in Lindenhurst and would be very interested in checking out some builds. As far as the Jeep thing....BELIEVE me, I'm ready to run out and get a "For Sale" sign right now, the wife however...not so ready. Plus I really don't have any space for a build. I have a small single car garage that I need for storage.

So for now, I'll have to settle for learning/planning/convincing wife mode.

Again, thank's for the replies.

I am in the same boat as you. Except I need to get a house first. Anyways, what ever you do don't watch the Video that Factory Five put out a couple of months back. It makes you glassy eyed and you get funny feelings all over. You will sit up at night trying to figure out how you can swing this thing.

ps. Many build have been done in one car garages. I think one was even done inside the shipping crate. Good luck.

Ho'ed and Hawed about one too until I went on vacation to Florida and Jim Pomroy was kind enough to take me for a rip in his, after that I was sold. Delievered four months later. No regrets.
\I'm trying for the coupe now, so if I can unload the pickup, get an 88 jetta diesel, and build a new shop since we moved I'll be all set.

Anyway SOMEDAY your already here so thats the first step, so I think you'll be getting your kit.. lets say sept 23 2003... tell me if I'm wrong.
Cheers Ray
