Spring is here and once again I have heat in the garage.
Ready to pull the engine and am wondering where to hook the chains. My donor came with headers but they left the tabs for pulling the engine off. There are plenty of places on the front passenger side to catch a bolt but the drivers side is a different story. Any advice appreciated.

Put bolts into the exhaust manifold bolt holes, one in rear and one on the other side in front.

We had pulled the upper intake, so we used 4 bolts that hold the lower intake to the block. Seems to work well.

Quick response. Wasn't sure if one exhaust bolt would be enough to pull engine and trans. I think they're only 5/16.

I think they are 3/8.

If you dont have metal tabs we also used nylon tie downs looped around the front and rear header pipes on each side, then up to the hook.

Are you using an engine leveler for the lift too?

The levelers will make it go very easily plus they have 4 lift points. You can use two header bolts on each side (my method).

You can rent a leveler free from AutoZone or for a few bucks elsewhere. To buy one is only about $35.
