Hi guys,
Mike's right, I came up with a simple charcoal filter that's worked great for me.
Here's the basics. I took a 1.5" diameter piece of rubber engine hose, and put some charcoal filters in it. It's about 5" long. If you go to a pet store, they have some charcoal filters for fish tanks that come in little tissue like bags (kind of like a coffee filter material). I took two of these and stuffed them in the hose. To hold them in (they were a tight fit to begin with), I took a hose clamp and tightened it down on the end of the hose for the outlet. I really got technical with the connection method of the vent hose from the tank, to this 1.5" filter hose. I duct taped them together.
It's nothing fancy, but has worked great at keeping my garage fume free.
As Mike recommends, I ran the vent hose to the gas tank filler tube, and clamped it onto it.
I'll add some more details and pics to my website this weekend for anyone who may be interested.
