Does anyone have any recommendations for some good resources that will help me map out my fuel system. I have everything else for the build spec'd out but I have to admit I'm pretty confused on what type of setup I need.

I'm going with a 351W Potato and am going to buy a new Mustang tank that inlcudes an in tank pump. This is where I start getting confused. What else do I need. Should I scrap that pump and go with a separate fuel pump or is the in tank pump ok? Anyone have any diagrams or anything that could help me understand the workings of the fuel system for this type of setup? Is there a good book that could take some of the mystery out of it? Thanks.

I was also wondering if it would be better for an intank or a seperate pump. There are differnt applications for both but what do most of yall use around here?

There are a couple of different ways to do it - you can go with the Mustang high pressure EFI in-tank pump and use a fuel pressure regulator or you could use an external low pressure electric pump - which is what I did.

Here are a couple of pages from my web site to get you started.

I have the same driveline that John has. I used a BIGS-modified Holley carb with a Holley high-volume mechanical pump. The plumbing was really simple and the fuel pump cost what you'll pay for a pressure regulator to utilize your in-tank pump.

Hi,
I have all of the parts for fuel systems from pickup, pump, sender, grommets, fuel cell, lines, fitting etc. I'm really into mechanical fuel pumps so I stock mechanical pump style front covers for 429-460 & 302-351. Any questions please call me.
Thanks,
