After 5 years of trouble-free operation I am suddenly experiencing a fuel-pump problem. In both cases this occurred after driving the car upon re-start. When turning on the ignition the pump did not cycle as normal and the car would fire for a few seconds and die. After several attempts it finally started and ran normally. In one instance the car lost power for a second while driving. This may be a wiring problem but I doubt this as all connections are soldered or by means of the GM connectors. The pump is controlled by the PCM which powers the relay in the underhood fusebox. No codes in the PCM. Any theories would be appreciated.
