Is there anything unique about CXS4265, I have a CXS plate riveted to the foot box under the hood but today when removing the engine I found that number stamped into my frame???

Original owner passed away in 2012, so I can't ask him.

I am sure mine is a FFR as I have the FFR tag below the steering wheel and a copy of the FFR Certificate

Your cars MSO form show the car number as FFR1004265RD. Does your car have that number engraved into the frame square tube to the left and below the steering wheel? If so, someone added the CSX prefix to your number to add some "authenticity". I'm shocked that anyone would ever do that. 😁

Just seemed weird to stamp it in the frame, I have the same factory five tag except mine says F5R not FFR

Back in 1965 Carrol Shelby purchased 12, 4.6 liter engines from Ford and 12 FFR prototype bodies 20 years before Dave sold his first kit. These 4.6 engines were installed on Shelby CSX frames and then the FFR bodies were installed. Shelby painted these bodies multiple times in diffferent colors and the legend was started that Shelby had actually produced over 100 of these 4.6 engine cobras. What you have is very unique and worth a pretty penny.

That seems unlikely as the kit was purchased in '07

Sorry I was just joking but I guess you didn’t pick up that. Enjoy the car for what it is.
