Thanks to ffcars.com and forum members who have purchased my hidden trunk and new hood hinge kits. I can now give back a little to this great resource and have become a paid advertiser! I love the entertainment, information and comradory this site brings and am proud to be able to contribute a little to keep it free for us all.

Just wanted to show my appreciation!

Hi Lee,

Installation on the hood would be easy. The one challenge is bonding the one piece needed on the body. It's inside the radiator opening in front and the piece would have to be bonded upside down. I think it's certainly possible and will be doing this very thing for another piece I'm putting on my car. I'll let you know the results after my bonding.

When are you going to cruise over here for another family (cobra and blood) visit?

Duane, what are you using as a bonding agent? Is it included in the kit?

It will be a while until I make it to Houston. Can't remember if I told you, but I have been on a detail in Washington DC since Sept 4. I will be up here until the end of November or mid-December. I brought the roadster with me and have been doing some cool stuff with the Capital Area Cobra Club: winery cruises, auto-x, BBQs. Tomorrow we are going to Summit Point to run some laps.

Talk to you soon.

Lee,

I recommend you use a good quality epoxy for bonding. Basically whatever you're using for your seams, Westcoast, Duraglass, etc.. The trick I recommend is the use of a product such as kittyhair to thicken the epoxy instead of a filler such as the Westcoast stuff. MUCH stronger bond. I don't include this with the kit.

Kobrak, you can use the matting. I recommend cloth, but the matting would work just as well. Just have to ensure you use epoxy resin and not fiberglass resin.
