Does anyone have any experience with this motor?
It looks like a decent entry level motor to hold me over and get me on the road that much quicker.
I would probalblly upgrade the cam and go with a decent carb. and build a motor to swap out later. As always your input is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Sure why not !that and a big blue bottle in the trunk with a N20 Cam as long as it has forged pistons go for it. Sub 12 is easy we have a 3000lb Fairmont with a wore out 5.0 e7 heads ugly port job by me ,intake and a 780 Holley dp that runs 12.2 to 12.4 with an x cam (yes it fits with stock pistons) So with less weight of the roadster and depending how good you are with the shifter .... 1000 lbs ='s roughly 1 second et.if not get the blue bottle set it for 125 hp .The Fairmont is a c4 auto w/out trans brake a nd just a holley blue pump. We used the 6007 XB3M. As it sits was $3200. by the time it was built with intake, carb, dist, MSD box, timing cover, ecentric, v-belt water pump, mounts and pulleys, we had $6700 into it. I'm with you -- the S58 is a deal. Might buy one for my truck.

A cam swap and some 185cc heads and you in buisness for less than $4000.00. When I build my coupe that's the route I'm taking.

Thanks for the encouraging view. I wasn't planning on using this motor for my sub 12 1/4 mile. Just an step along the way while I build "THE" motor.

This is an excellent engine to get going now!!all you really need is the carb..everything else is already on it. At $2600. it really is a steal. It is a mid 70's truck type engine and flywheel NO egr ports(if emissions are a concern). Ford has them in stock and it can be at your door in 4-5 days.
Free Freight and only a liftgate fee if needed.
