got most of the aluminum footbox pieces powdercoated and installed.

I've also started to powdercoat the rollbar pieces red. Here's the first one I've done so far, it actually came out a lot better than I thought it would:

I thought the black burn mark that was showing before I coated it was going to show throw the red, but it didn't to my surprise.

Im still working on the powder coating FAQ. It'll be done soon.

Now if I just can get my front and rear suspension pieces I'll be a happy camper!

could I powder coat the frame? yeah, I probably could, but man cooking that thing would be a pain in the tush! spraying it would be easy (time consuming, but easy). cooking it would be another story. those hard to reach places would make it a nightmare with my propane betty crocker.

OC - I'd hang the suspension if I had the darn pieces!!! Can you say BACK ORDERED?

Re: Frame Powder
Enclose the area with a greenhouse (?cold frame) of glass - ie few scrap windows on a rought 2x4 frame) and put the ffr frame on a rotiserie (2 engine lifts) and use 2 heaters -
Did you mention how close the heat needs to be to the metal you've coated?

you pics are funny, you dedicated 20-30 rivits to hold the footboxes together and the same amount for the upper row of rivits on the f panels. those f panels are not going to move :D . you did remember to do the silicone, it would suck to drill those out!

is this all done with HF powercoater?

yes, it was all done with the HF powder coater. I just posted the FAQ i put together on powder coating using the HF unit.

OC - I just bought 1000 extra rivots from HF. Ive gone rivet crazy.

Jim - dont know about the frame cooker you were describing. The IR propane heater has to be 1/2 inch away from the metal. that could be kind of tricky for the entire frame!

PowderMan, nice job! I'm heading to the FAQ's to see how to pretty up my build when I take the body off for paint. Thanks for the updates...you and OrangeCrush are going to have awesome off-the-beaten-track go-carts!
