I've got donor spindles from a '97 Mustang Cobra as well as an 18:1 Flaming River rack. My car's in the go-cart stage and it looks like I may have a potential bump steer problem. I'm also using the poly rack bushings.

So, can anyone with a similar setup give me any pointers. Do I need a bumpsteer kit? Can I mount the tie rod ends so that they go in the spindle from the top, with the castle nut on the bottom side, and if so, does that help cure bump steer?

Thanks,

Jim,

You thoughts are correct. You will have a significant bump steer issue. and, unfortunately you will not be able to just "flip" the tie rod end becasue its a tapered ball stud. Take a good look at Breeze's bump steer kit and offset rack bushings. They are tapered studs and wont require you to drill the spindles and relocate using a heim on the top of the spindle.
