Any idea how this car would be registered in California? If it's not a replica of an actual pre-1973 car, then would it need full smog equipment? SB100 refers to replicas, right? I was just bitten by a new snake at Knott's, the GT40!

OK I guess I 'll answer my own question, just read the law. The owner picks whether the model year is based on the year that the engine "resembles" or the vehicle "resembles". So a carbureted small block would resemble a pre-1973 engine, right? I didn't see the pictures of the supercar, does it "resemble" a GT40? Any details appreciated. I imagine the "supercar" would be registered in the same way as the Cobra under SB100, no SMOG required.

So who saw the pictures?

I saw the pictures, and it looks really cool. The top still looks like a GT40 but the nose and side skirts are more modern. The nose has a flat face dam, rounded corners and lower splitter. The side skirts are verticle instead of being rounded under the car like a GT40.
bsklein, were you bitten by my GT40?

Wayne, I think everyone was bitten by that one to some degree. It's just an impressive car, a real race car with license plates. I would love to see one of these go by at full throttle on the big track at Willow Springs. I guess it's from the company in South Africa? I checked their web site, I guess it's not available in kit form. Sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you about it at the show. What is the least expensive way to get one of these (a good one), there are kits from New Zealand and Australia, I understand Gordon Levy is going to sell the Australian kit? With the support for the FFR products and volume of kits, maybe their supercar is the way to go for the "average" garage mechanic on a budget. Maybe we can also talk FFR into an affordable Ultima kit as their next project, plenty of activity at that booth.

Any info appreciated.

Enjoy it!
