Just so you know you are not alone, here's my story. I wanted to buy a Lokar dipstick from a forum member. He said he'd send it and if it fit, I could pay him. He sent it regular mail from Canada to me in Massachusetts, and it took 6 weeks to arrive. Obviously it didn't fit, so I sent it back to him...Massachusetts to Canada..regular first class mail. ELEVEN weeks later, it shows up in MY mailbox. So now I want to send it with tracking. The best price I could get from anyone to track it and ship it was $22.00...for a $35 dipstick. So off it went USPS first class again.

Fedex lost my package from FFR with the poly motor mounts, MCO & VIN plate, sent in April '06. After 2 weeks, they couldn't come up with it. Had to send FFR a notarized letter (requesting a new MCO). Got the new box a week or so later. Fast forward 14 1/2 months (2 weeks ago), I get a call from Fedex's package depot in Utah, "Is this Factory Five Racing, we have a package here for you". It took over 15 minutes to get the lame brain "lost package specialist" to understand that I was the shipee, not the shipper, and that this issue was looong dead.

I must say this is my first problem with FedEX in over 10 years of daily use.

Two recent shipments, two damaged packages.

I recieved my dieted harness 2 weeks ago from I-Squared via UPS. the box was so damaged that almost all the foam peanuts had escaped and the harness was hanging out of the hole. No wonder the UPS driver left the box w/o ringing the bell (my wife saw him).

Last week I recieved my leather seats from FFR, via Fed Ex Ground. It looked like they had tied the box to the truck fender. The holes had worn thru the box and the leather seats. It took a week to get them to picked it up for a claim. Now Fed Ex won't talk to me since I'm not the shipper...Only hope they made it back to FFR.

Sheesh, these guys make the USPS look good. Quality and pride is totally missing from these two companies.

Had a steering rack sent FedEx from Texas to Canada...just vanished...Sender didn't insure it for full value so I got a token compensation for it. Not Impressed...I'm guessing that someone who works for Fed Ex is into cars or car parts.

DLH lost me a Muncie 4 speed, strapped on a pallet no less..NEVER FOUND... How do you lose a freaking Transmission???
Fed Ex deliverd me an EMPTY box, just the other day.. I snagged a complete 5 lug conversion, the guy shipped it to me in several different boxes... The drums must have came out and some fed ex numbskull taped the EMPTY box back together.... THEN THEY DELIVERED IT TO ME>>>> E M P T Y >>>>>>>> ARGGGGGGGG !
I am guessing that one could complete a FFR just by going through the fed ex "Lost package" office, Bin or wearhouse.....

UNBELIEVABLE!

Fed-Ex is a total piece of @#$%.
OK so today I received my second set of leather roadster seats after Fed-Ex ground destroyed one of the two seats in the first delivery, by dragging the box across the ground until they tore a hole in the box and then the seat.

This time the stupid idiots managed to destroy both seats!

%&%$#@*&& anther call to Fed Ex, another call to FFR and another 3 weeks to get my seats....

On the other hand, my scheduled delivery date for my FedEx'ed shocks and springs was tomorrow. They are arriving today. Wow! One day early!

Sorry, Ed. You are having a really tough time. How about trying DHL?

I'm also a Federal Firearms License owner. Many Fed-Ex people are also in firearms collecting. Many guns ar "lost" by Fed-Ex. Many boxes arrive perfectly intact but without any contents. They cut the box open take out gun then retape it. They will also leave packages on doorsteps without getting a signature, even when it is clearly stamped on the box "Signature Required".
If you live in a rural area they sometimes use contract people to do the delivery. Compound the regular Fed-Ex problems by 10.
I only use USPS for smaller packages.

Did it ever occur to you that there might be some FedEx employees on this site?
Not all FedEx emplyees are as you describe them. MOST are trying to do their best under tough circumstances. I'd be willing to bet that whatever your profession(sp?) is, that there are some bad apples.
What do you do for a living BluBlur ?

Guys,

I was currier for Fedex for 5 years. During the time I worked there I felt we were the best of the delivery companies. We were up held to pretty high standards of service. As time went on things did change and I did leave due to poor treatment of employees by management. Most of this was because of the competetive nature of the business. As companies like UPS started offering the same services such as Next Day Air delivery things became very different. Fedex could no longer charge the premiums as in the past due the new competetive cheaper competition. Shareholders became very aggressive with cutting costs. This resulted in slashing back hours for employees, asking for rediculously high numbers as in deliveries per hour made, etc etc. The final straw for me was when they attempted to write me up because I punched out 30 minutes later the I should have. They wanted everyone off the clock by 12:00 PM (to attempt to save money)on the particular day but my manager asked if I could do him a favor and make a delivery of forty 21" CRT monitors to high rise downtown after I finished up my normal route. I did as I was asked and when I returned they jumped all over me for not being off the clock by 12:00. Well that particualr day I was in no mood for that grief.. especially after making 15 trips in and out of my truck in a 115 degree heat delivering those monitors to the 20th floor of the building. That afternooon I wrote out my resignation and handed it to my manager. Bye Bye...

That being said guys... Keep in mind that FedEx Ground is almost a completey different company then Fedex. Fedex purchased RPS "Roadway Packaging Systems" several years back in order to compete with UPS ground delivery. Before the purchase of RPS, Fedex did not have ground service. FedEx Ground is basically still RPS to my undestanding but under a different name. RPS drivers actually owned their routes in the past much like a franchise. They were not held to the same comentments and standards as FedEx. I think when you have bad service from FedEx Ground you are getting the RPS service. When FedEx purchased RPS I remember having concerns that this was not going to be positive for the FedEx name as I knew how RPS operated and that they were still going to operate the same way for atleast awhile under FedEx. I guess my predictions were correct.

One way you can always the difference is that standard FedEx uniforms and trucks are purple and orange. FedEx Ground is purple and green.
