Looking for personal experience from those with bigger engines. Mine is a grumpy 331 that makes 472HP at the crank.

Put in another SPEC stage 3 clutch, but unhappy with it not seeming to fully dis-engage. Disc may be thicker. I have an external hydraulic clutch, and will verify I am getting full travel with the slave and clutch fork.

I just upgraded to the TKX trans and thier aluminum bellhousing.

So, if I have to pull out the clutch, looking for other options.

I open track the car alot, so the choice you advocate has to be able to take that abuse for a few years.

Spec stage 2 would be fine, ACT paddle style discs, FM4-HDG6, FM4-SPG6

I'm using a McLeod Street Extreme 75307. But I doubt you'll need all the grip this one has. I settled on this one because my engine builder recommended them. So I called and talked over options after telling them about the motor (585 HP / 585 TQ, 7K RPM limit) and tranny specs (G-Force gears and countershaft).

I too have the same McLeod. Mostly because when my clutch went I was 10 miles from Mike Forte's shop so had the car towed there and that is the one Mike Forte put in the car! I'm very happy with it so far. Been about 6 months.

I used the centerforce dual friction for a number of years. Worked well on the street and track. One day, I managed to break the hat while on a road trip. Caused a really annoying vibration.

Then I purchased a McLeod; looking for something stronger. Upon careful inspection, I discovered that they use the exact same hat! Right down to the stamping marks - identical. I used it anyway, because I already owned. Didn't seem to work any better, and was a lot stiffer. Had some chatter when cold, too.

Then I went with a Spec stage 2. Worked well, no slipping or chatter, lighter pedal. Seemed to be a better quality hat, too.
