John,

You answered this question about the main cap hardware but is there a reason you elected to use bolts instead of studs on the heads?

Hey Joey,
Just decided that with the compression ratio and overall HP the engine would be making, that bolts would be entirely sufficient. Also, wanted to try and match the look of the originals 427s that used bolts for the heads as well.

Was the build ever completed?
Not completed yet ... it's been on an extended hold while the family keeps expanding. :smile2:

Hi John! Good to see you back on here a little bit. You know, if you spend more time in the garage, the family might not expand so much;) JK. Good to hear everythings ok with you.

I'm not one to talk, as I still have ZERO parts for a FFR build. Unless you count the Exploder engine sitting on a cradle, and the T5 that needs a rebuild. Those are both a loooong way from a FE!
