I need to find outsome info on my Edelbrock heads, this evening I was doing some maintainence on my car, cheking for header leaks and found something I never noticed before on both heads facing the firewall and the radiator there are holes and I could feel exhaust coming out, is this normal or should these be plugged off, these are the holes I used to hook the engine hoist to when installing the engine.

They should be pluged, they were for if i remember correctly part of the smog system...someone will know the size of the bolt to use as a plug.

These are the 4 bolt holes on each end of each head, or just the ones on the firewall side? We are using them in the engine hoist right now but it is good to know that we should plug them.

There are plugs for those with threads inside and out,the plugs are hollow. The hole on the left head ( facing the car from the front) is were you will mount you alt. I just did this on my AFR'S. All will need to be pluged.

In case you need them I bought 5/8 x 1" plugs for mine.
