Wow, that sure is your car! They are not selling a car, they are auctioning off a kit that they would then build for he winner. That's very misleading. I emailed the guy and told him that he doens't own that picture. I bet DV would know this company, they are near each other.

I would think these guys are not someone to deal with. First, selling a car that isn't built. Second, using someone elses picture. What? Haven't they built their own kit before or would this be the first kit they have ever built? Third, they have a low ebay bidder number, so they are newbies.

Not a cool ad.

That Cobra was manufactured for a previous client and delivered to him in
San Diego. He has since moved to Australia and taken the car with him. You
might also have seen it in various Cobra club pages

Holly Batman... they are lying! Can you believe they are trying to pass off your car as one that THEY built? You need to email every bidder and tell them these guys are full of it.

If this guys trying to sell FFR completed kits, he's starting out by ticking off a very large and informed crowd. Hey, won't we all be going to Columbus in a month or so?

Here's the guys reply to me:

Hello

Thank you for your email. I appreciate that you assume that we are
trying to sell that Cobra Replica. But if you read in the auction, we state
that the Cobra for sale is not yet completed. That picture was given to us
by a client in California that asked us to reproduce it colorwise, which we
did. Unfortunately our webmaster chose this photo to put in our auction. We
spoke with the owner last night and he asked us to pull the photo which we
cannot due, so we are pulling the auction to substitute the picture. We
apologize for any problems we have inadvertantly caused.

Thank You

Jim

In addition to including Wayne's photo their choice of business name could be somewhat misleading to the less informed. Dynamic MOTORSPORTS is a reputable and respected Superformance dealer, also based in Ohio. Caveat emptor indeed.

The owner of this business emailed me the following:

Bill

Feel free to print this in your website. Thank You.

We received that picture from a client a while back so we could reproduce the color for him, where he got it was of no concern at that time. We put it in our files for reference. When we decided to advertise on ebay I had our staff webmaster prepare the auction. All of our pictures of completed cars are from in our shop with an industrial background as the view outside is not much better, he thought that picture was the best choice because it showed the classic car in a wonderful background, he DID not know
that we had used the picture for informational purposes only and that was not the Cobra we prepared. I talked with Frank yesterday and he informed me that the picture was of his car and asked us to remove it, I agreed. NO WHERE IN OUR AUCTION DID IT SAY THAT THE CAR WAS FOR SALE. It was used as a classic example of a fine looking Cobra replica. We have an excellent reputation for building, restoring, and upgrading race vehicles for SCCA /NASA / SVRA and classic automobiles. Our clients have never known us to or
will ever be shortchanged or fraudulent with them. The reason we have clients instead of customers is we treat them well enough that they keep coming back to us. Now for all of your readers out there We apologize for any misrepresentation, I can see how it can be construed as such, but it was not meant as such, we condider out asses slapped hard. We could have ignored this furor and went on our merry way and not have had it affect us one iota. But we are not hiding!!! Some of you will continue to be outraged or will find nothing better to do than further criticize, so be it! Maybe its time
to think instead of act.

This email was sent to me from the some guy who wants to back up Jim for using Wayne's picture:

Mr. Peirce,

Hello, My name is Robert Johnson. Jim from Dynamic Racing Services forwarded to me some email responses from you and yours. I perused them a bit and looked at the auction. The picture is the same picture I gave to him to try and match the color for my Cobra replica. They had no idea where the picture came from. Based on their work I had them resore my 65 Corvette and my
Porshe Spyder. So if you think he is lying well... since you do not know him, I would not judge him to harshly (glass houses and rocks). I think you folks are assuming a bit to much self righteousness. As a matter of fact, I have not found the quality of finish their shop gave me matched anywhere else. Yes, they deviated from the norm when building the car, but it was at
my insistance. I was tranferred to Sydney Australia early last year and much to the dismay of my wife, I took the car with me!!! And have had a multitude of compliments on it. I have known him to be a fair and ethical businessman
he may not make it known to all (read anonymous) but his shop has contributed more than just money and time to various assorted childrens funds (chlidrens burn units and childrens hospital) as well as to the rest of the community. Hats off to Jim and crew. So.... look a little harder, no
one like mobs or bullies.

Respectfully

Robert Johnson

P.S.

I have met many men that will write an article demeaning a person and their integrity, but I have met very few that will print the other side of the coin, so to speak. Which one are you

It sounds like an honest mistake but since I am the photographer, the owner of said photograph, was the builder of the car, you can see the reasons for the email sent to DynamicMotorsports. Had they chose to respond to the email with the above reasons, I would have been happy to supply them with a number of photos "showing the classic car in a wonderful background". It just would not have been my purple cobra as it is easily identifiable as my car, with all the web and magazine exposure it has received. I literally have 5 gig's of just cobra/daytona/GT40 pics on my hard drive. Thanks for pulling the auction since Ebay doesn't let you change images. The first beer at the Fling is on me.
