This is making me go, "Hmmm." :confused1::confused1:

The side aluminum panel on the driver side and passenger side footboxes are different on my kit - - is this what others have? My Coupe was received in October. Take a look:

From what we had on ours, you'll find that nothing is symetrical on this car... It drove us nuts until we gave in to it... Resistance is Futile!

Yeah, I knew that before starting this project. And no one - except for us here - will see it when the car is done.

It is strange, though. Maybe something related to saving on sheet aluminum - maximizing yield / minimizing scrap on standard raw materials - or - something.

Maybe we can make up some story for this . . . .

Those look different than mine so not much help from me. I do agree that symmetry was lacking in many areas.

Symetrical what's that? :w00t:
If you have been on this forum for any amount of time you will know that nothing on the body and panels are symetrical.

If that made you go "Hmmm", you'll be singing a freaking opera by the time you're done. All the above comments apply.

Wayne,

That looks right. It's because the driver side has the dropped foot box.

John
Yup, x3.

Putting all the pieces together is a real jigsaw puzzle, especially when many of the panels are just far enough outta whack to make you question whether you're looking at the right spot.

Funny. . . . Now that I think about "store bought cars" - I remember my dad's Chevy Monte Carlo, a 70-something SS. The gaps between the driver door were big enough for me to stick my fingers in. But the passenger side door gaps were nice and tight, something line an eigth-of an inch. That bothered me, and it wasn't even my car. . ..

Moving forward. . ..
