OK, so this isn't exactly going to be the most fun part of the build - but I have started.

I can't see any reason to save electrical connections to the doors, the ones for the mirrors and windows and door locks. I'd like to just cut them at the hinge point on the door and then not worry about them.

Can I do that and will I regret it later?

There was nothing in my doors that needed to be saved. I would still reccommend that you look at a good wiring diagram, identify each and every circuit and then cut. I then followed the wire back into the car as far as possible and cut the wire there to get rid of it altogether. Very often, this will lead you to another wire that's unneeded and can also be cut.

Kurt, If I did it again I would try to save every factory wedgelock connector. I saved most of them and reused them for wiring in the black box and dashboard. They are much better than the aftermarket ones. NAPA sells the pins and sockets.

Oh, I'm saving EVERYTHING. I think that I've got a packrat gene in me somewhere. What I'm really trying to figure out is if I can just cut the connectors in the doors to make extraction easier. I'm planning on having the harness redone by someone who knows what they're doing. There isn't much I won't try, but cutting down the harness is one of them.
