I'm a new member of ffcars and I think it is great. I can't believe all the great info shared by everyone. I have always wanted a Cobra since I was a kid and I'm about to make the plunge with a Factory Five. I'm headed to a salvage yard tomorrow morning who doesn't have a complete donor, but has a number of 87-93 GT's. I'm looking for some estimated prices on some parts to make sure they are reasonable. Please share with me what I should pay for a complete rear end, pedal box w/ pedals, T5 tranny, drive shaft, gas tank and front spindles. I plan on using a crate motor so I think this will get me started. Any help is appreciated. Todd

If you can get a rolling chassis so that is stops steers and rolls. Complete harness unless going carb. If you can get one with a blown motor it will save you a ton of time running down all the little hardware you will need for the crate motor. Cheers Richard.

TH,
If the salvage yard you are going to is hooked to the automotive recyclers computer system, you're going to pay alot (my opinion). My once favorite yard used to have really good prices, posi rearend $100, pedal box $10, running 5.0 $100. Now they're hooked to the system, any 8.8 rear $200+exchange, pedal box $50, running 5.0 $450+exchange. You'd be better off looking for a donor car with a bad engine or no engine, then you'd have all the little stuff too.

Thanks Greg and Richard for the info. I'm headed to the yard to see what I find. Todd
