the manual says that for the driver side "thread the tie rod end all the way in to the end of the threaded part, and 1/2" (or whatever) on the passenger side."

no nut is used to tighten back onto the tie rod end? if so, wouldn't the manual say to screw THIS nut all the way to the end of the threaded part?

once again the manual is awful.

you guys are great

My Flaming River rack came with jam nuts on the treaded ends so I used them against the rod end. Can't hurt.

you MUST use the lock nut to hold the alignment. The inner tierod end has a ball joint so it can rotate. The threads that the manual talks about are on the outside end of the outer tierod
hope this makes sense
