Hi guys,

I need to push the side of my footbox out as far as possible, not only to make a dead pedal but also to add some much needed space for my not so big feet.

How deep can I make the extended area without running into problems with body clearance?

TIA,

Chris.

Mines 1.25" and that left me with 0.25" of clearance to the body. BUT that's measured at the outer edge of the extension. The body curves toward the footbox near the bottom edge so you can only extend the side of the footbox out about 0.5" there.

Thanks guys,

It looks like 1.25 inches at the top tapering to about .5 inches near the bottom is about the right size based on all your responses.

I just made one for a friend and put it in on sat. today I bent one up for me, I made a box that was 10x10x1.5 deep, 4 3/4 down from the top of the little box I bent it in to be flush with the original panel on the bottem.

I pulled some pics from my buildsite of what I did. It's very similar to the Darkwater dead pedal part.
