Does anyone have a source for de-coding engine numbers? I just picked a 302 long block and found the following number stamped onto a flat at the rear of the motor:RY623033
and this number on the left side rear of the block: E0AED3C

I used to have the codes in the computer, but of course now that I need them, I can't find them.

Thanks,

Ray

The EO is a casting number. The last six digits on the other number match the VIN number on the car it came from. The whole vin number had an F in it to signify a 5.0 HO motor. Other than that there is no good information in the number to be gained.
