REMAIN CALM, ive had to tighten my connections at the remote about 4 times. Are you using a screwdriver or a small socket??

There have been a couple of cases of these hoses blowing.

Unless you are running Super High Oil pressure, They can be made to work.

Yeah, better hose and fittings would be better.

Hi Eric,
I didn't want to take a chance on either blowing a hose or having any restriction of oil flow so I replaced everything with AN 10 braided lines from the engine to the filter to the oil cooler and back. Used a Moroso 10 AN adaptor on the engine block and AN 10 swivels for connecting.
It looks really great and never close to a leak.

Eric,

Have you determined where the leaks are coming from?

Before you spend more of your dads hard earned cash on a set of braided lines, determine where its leaking.

He may have to buy the Canton relocator too.

My rubber hoses actually started to split over time. So ended up replacing them with braded hose. One of the few pieces of braded hose I have on the car. After replacing the hose and using a Canton block adpater, I found the oil pressure was up about 5# on my gauge - a lot less oild pressure drop too at idle.
I am still using the filter adapter as it's working fine.

Traveler, HOWs the KNEE??

How much did this cost and where did you get them??

Some one should sell what we need to do this as a kit. Assuming Normal motor location and mounting the oil filter on the front cross bar.

I KNOW NOTHING about these fancy hoses and fittings.

If you do not use teflon tape at the fittings, guess what? They leak.

The hoses will deteriorate from the heat and the remote bracket manufacturer, Perma-Cool, recommends replacement every two years.

Prior to open track road racing events my long check list includes a twist on those hose clamps. After each of those high speed, high temperature events I know the car is safe for puttering around on public roads. My 302 has a stock oil pump, rubber hoses, hose clamps and the Perma-Cool relocator bracket provided in the FFR kit.

Hi Eric,
I stock the billet Canton remote oil filter adapter and a matching billet oil filter mount along with Earls fittings and hose. I also sell the Accusump and fittings, oil pan etc. If you need any quality oil system products please give me a call.

It seems they should at least have it as an option. Personally when I order, I'm deleting that if possible. Seems like a good % of people are using the Canton setup.

Has anyone lost an engine from the stock remote filter? (I think at least one)
