what kind of wires do you have?

Dan - I don't see what you would have to lose by trying it. Just make sure everything is clean and use some of the high-temp stuff on it. If you have any shrink-tubing that you can put over the wound that can only help.
Hopefully the nick does not go all the way to the conductor.
Route the repair away from grounds and other wires if possible. You may need to swap with another cylinder to accomplish this.

Get some better wires IMHO.

The FRPP wires blow, again just my opinion. WAY, WAY too much resistance.

Seriously - parts store wires are frequently red, very inexpensive and have LESS resistance than those FRPP wires.

With that trick motor, get some taylor 409 wires.

I had one of my Accel wires melt against a header shortly after getting the car on the road and was able to silicone it. It has been working OK for about a year now. I siliconed it then wrapped it in electrical tape. I bought some heat boots and they hide the ugly mess. I guess I needed them anyways. :rolleyes:
