Going with a coyote in my new build and trying to decide on transmission/rear gear setup. In our 2011 with aftermarket mufflers the coyote drones pretty loudly at around 2000rpm. I want to stay above the drone at highway speeds so I'm thinking stay above that for highway speeds 70-80mph.

Then again I don't want 1st gear to be completely useless. For those with completed coyote builds, is the drone bad with sidepipes and at what rpms? (And what gear are you using?)

Did you have Flowmasters on your Mustang? Well known issue with 2 chamber FM at approx 2000 rpm. The FFR side pipes don't seem to have a 'drone zone' or resonance problem, however they are a little restrictive. Don't know about the other types of side pipes available from forum vendors.
Yes, flowmasters. The drone is pretty loud even with an open top in the'stang. Leaning toward 3.73s to stay above 2k on the highway.
