I ordered my frame bare.

I was thinking, why not drill all the wholes for the rivets BEFORE taking all the aluminum off the frame?

Anybody see any drawbacks to this?

The aluminum may not be in the 'ideal' position as delivered from the factory. Having to shift one panel may move 3-4 more nearby. Destroying all your pre-drilled holes.

The best method seems to be to mark the tube outline from the back of the panel, then remove the panel and drill your hole pattern within the marks. Then put the panel back and drill the tube.

Be careful, they aren't always lined up well from the factory...

hard to tell where to drill with out marking and removing.
