Is it ok to wire the 14 ga purple wires directly through the clutch safety switch or do I need to use a relay? The Autowire instructions seem to suggest wiring straight through the switch with no relay. I did some searches and saw someone suggested using a relay b/c the load is too heavy and the switch will eventually die. How are you guys doing this? I bought an automotive relay at radio shack but wanted to check first before figuring out how to wire it. Will the relay lower the amperage too much? Thanks.

It should be fine direct. That wire is correctly sized for the circuit so it should be fine used with the switch. In general we disable it. Cheers Richard.

Did ours direct. No problems so far. You aren't switching that many amps. I've had the switch apart, and its made up of fairly chunky copper bits. It should be able to handle it.
