As some may recall, I posted earlier this week about blowing a pin hole in one of the flex lines for the remote oil filter. I talked to Mike Forte about getting some -AN lines to replace the flex lines I got with the kit. Went down to pick them up and in the process of talking (and waiting for the delivery guy), Mike mentioned that he sells a Ford 90 degree oil filter adaptor that may work. We checked it out on the FFR he's building in the middle of his store and it looked good to me, brought it home and threw it in!! It works great!! The filter now sits directly next to the oil pan and is fully protected by the 4" tube directly in front of it.... best part.... it's 1/2 the price of the AN lines!! I've got a picture that is part of an email which I can't figure how the heck to save it as a .jpg, as soon as I do, I'll post it.

Sounds like it could be GOOD.

I'll be going 4 into 4, so I shouldn't have toooo much of an issue, but would still be interested to see the pics.

Cheers

Gratz,

If I understand you correctly....this does away with the need for a "remote" oil filter locator when using reversed headers with the j-pipes?

If so, I'm definately "in" on buying one from Mike!!

Gratz if you want send the pic to me maybe I can fool with it and post it. It would be great to not have to run the relocator.
Thanks Mike.

Neill - you'll have room to spare with the filter in the stock location.

If this will work with my Mac unequal length shorty headers, I'm in for one.

I ran the remote oil filter for 4 years without a problem and most of miles were on the track. Now with 4 into 4s the filter is back on the engine block.

The Explorer 90 degree filter adapter will eliminate the remote filter if you are using Mustang headers reversed.

I may of just had a bad line, but I only had about 1000 miles on the car... I forwarded the email with the picture to some of the people on that asked, good luck trying to post it! If no luck, next time I'm around, I'll get a soft copy from Mike and bring it home that way.

Since we're supposed to get a discount at Five Star Ford, I e-mailed them for price and availability on the filter adapters.
I'll let you know when I hear anything.

Earl, you sir, are correct!
I'll contact Mike and see what he can do for me.
As soon as I saw that Ford part number all I thought about was that it's a Ford only type thing. Not remembering the first post.

Just wanted to update.
Went for a ride with my son, and my "fixed" relocator is still leaking at the block.
I ordered the part from Forte's, should be here early next week. Looks like it's gonna be really close to where the J-pipe meets the header.
We shall see.
