just installed " Cobra" valve covers and found that the upper intake now has a fit issue in regards to the fitting that mounts under the intake for the breather lines, whats the fix for this ...Thanks Don M.

The Cobra valve covers are taller than stock and will interfere as you said. The fix is to buy a phenolic spacer that goes between the upper and lower intake. Just about any Ford performance parts supplier has them.

Thanks, I'll get one tomorrow and get this thing all buttoned up, should be dropping the engine/trans in this coming weekend if everything goes good. This is actually going pretty quickly..

DPMAZ, As the others have already stated, a 3/8 phenolic spacer will do the trick and I bought mine from Summit too. However, this also caused some clearance issues with the hood on my car.

Another way o take care of the problem is to tapp the hole for the fittings a little deeper. They are a pipe thread and by running the tap in a little deeper, you can get the fitting to thread futher into the intake and provide more clearance. Not sure it is enough though.

Or you could just grind down the fitting. It worked for me. You'll also have to elongate the mounting holes in the throttle cable bracket so it doesn't hit.

No problem, Just passing on some tips I picked up when I was scratching my head about the same problems. That's what this place is all about.
