Hey guys you're right. I'm and engieer working for Pratt & Whitney Space Propulsion down here in West palm Beach, Fl. We are developing a new rocket engine for NASA called the "COBRA" engine which is an acronym for Co-Optimized Booster for Reusable Applications. Generically it's in the 500,00 to 650,000 pounds of thrust machine burning liquid oxygen and hydrogen. No nitros required! Makes 1/4 mile drags exciting, straight up. Test firings in our rocket test facility will be exciting! The company's employee store has knit collared shirts sporting a snake and the word COBRA on the chest shoulder area. I love coming to my office to work on a Cobra every day.
I attended the Mott Community College build school last April, fantastic 3 day program, worth every penny ($800) and besides you get a $500 reduction from FFR when you order a kit. Learned lots of "building tricks" from instructors Nick and Tony who are concurrently building their own cars at the college. We learned the book way, Nick's way nd Tony's way of building the car. Lots of lessons learned to make the build easier. I plan to order my kit this November and start working on MY COBRA project at home besides work. Currently I'm cleaning out my garage, collecting tools and planning my build configuration,(annal engineer). This is a great forum, lots of good material and info shared. Keep it up! I'm sure as I get into my build I'l have lots more questions to be answered.
