Clutch pedal travel is fine and the clutch engages properly but when fully pressed all the way down the clutch makes grinding sound. The clutch is new. I can drive the car with no problem. The grinding happens when the car is not even in gear & the clutch pressed all the way down. Whats wrong?

thanks

You may be over actuating the clutch. If you have an adjustable cable try adjusting so you have less total travel. You need to to be able to get it into gear plus a bit more for safety and that's it.If you don't have an adjustable cable try some type of shimms to restrict how far forward you can push the pedal.layers of 1/4 inch plywood duct taped to the floor will do as a test.Good luck

I made an adjustable clutch stop that clamps to the 3/4 tube. Adjust it to stop pedal just after it disengauges clutch. 15K miles and works fine.
