If I give the car a blip of gas, the classics 5 inch tach drops to zero. I am using complete MSD ignition. What would cause this?

Did a little more investigation, above 2500 RPM, it drops to zero.

My 5" Classic tachometer has a problem similar to what your describing. It is very accurate throughout the range as long as I'm not under wot or heavy acceleration, at which time it goes toward zero. If I get off the throttle it indicates perfectly. I also have MSD 6AL and I wired it according to their instructions. When I called them about this problem, they sent me a technical bulletin with revised instructions for MSD users. I haven't re-wired it yet so I don't know if it will cure it, and I don't have the bulletin here in front of me so I can't give you the specifics. I just checked their web site but they don't have this technical bulletin available to download. Guess you should call.

I read tha manual(should have done that in the first place) and there is alot of seperate instructions for classics tachs, whoops, should have read it.
