I am changing my Edlebrock manifold on my 302 to the Holley manifold for the roots supercharger. The manifold has 2 ports for water lines and or temp sensor. The thermostat housing i am using is the Ford Motorsport one that comes off at a 45 degree angle and has just the port for the upper radiator hose and no other water lines. The way i have it set up now is the extra little line off the thermostat housing goes to one of the little ports on the water pump and the other port on the water pump goes to the heater. Can i run my heater off both of the ports on the water pump, or should i run one off the manifold, one off the water pump then plug the other one on the water pump?

thanks in advance,
Eric

The heater lines should be routed from the manifold to the heater and back to the water pump.

Without the bypass hose from the thermostat housing to the water pump, water will not circulate through the block when the thermostat is closed. This will cause uneven heating of the engine. The water around the cylinders will get very hot, while the water near the thermostat will heat up slowly. Are you sure you have the right part number outlet for a 302? All the 302 outlets (3) in my FMS book have a bypass hose fitting.
