well I was just going to install Alex's glove box on the FFR suplied dash but then I saw Larry's @ Casey design modular dash and fell in love, I am totally broke now but I got one,

so now I was thinking on what to do as far as looks and I tought that since the modular dash has the exposed button head bolts on the inserts and Alex's glove box bolts from behind exposing the bolts head on the front but you usually hide them with the close cell foam and the vinyl, I was just thinking on exposing the heads on the glove box (of course using some nice SS button head bolts) as part of the design, I am still going to cover the main dash part with black vinyl but leave the gauge/swich inserts just bare brushed aluminum with some shark skin to protect them

what do you think?
has anybody done anything like it?

I am trying to visualize it, but it's hard since I have only see one picture of casey's dash and was on his own car

:confused::confused1:

I have the Casey design dash and love it. I to have Alex's shallow glovebox. Going to cover the dash with the black vinyl and the modular plates I have true carbon fiber to cover them. I am building a vertical center console to house the stereo and seat heater switchs, cover with vinyl and have a large cover plate with carbon fiber. I have everything built but still have to cover with the vinyl.

I have the Casey dash as well and am very pleased with the quality of workmanship with his product. I engine turned the gauge bezels and powdercoated the rest of the dash in a black crinkle coat. Here are some pics:

There are a lot of options available, just depends on your personal preference.

After seeing my dash in person, and seeing how awesome the aluminum looks, almost looks like a piece of billet aluminum, it would be a shame to cover it on vinyl or even leather, so I think I am just going to shark hide the main dash. Install Alex's glove box some nice SS exposed hardware and crincley powder coat the inserts.

BTW, how did you guys bent the ends of the dash? It looks to me that I would need some kind of roller bender to bend that tick of a material.

Great looking dash does anyone know if it fits the Mk4?
Yes it does.

I have one for my coupe. I thought about covering with leather or vinyl but I wasn't sure if the insert plates would fit well after wrapping the fabric through the holes...and I like the look of the powdercoat anyway.
