If you where buying a FF today what options would you do, not do? would you get the $2000 IRS kit or the 3 link, is there a cheaper way to do the IRS setup? I have read a articles about people doing it cheaper. Input please.....

If you're planning on road racing or autoX then go for the IRS. Remember you'll probably spend another 1K above the cost of the option once you add an IRS rear from a supercoupe and have the mods made.

Definitely get the cutouts. I went with the street performer seats for the support.

Anything else can be ordered later.

If I was doing it today, as opposed to last year when I took delivery, I think I'd get the IRS with the pin drive arms front and rear. There is just so much more flexibility with wheel choices that it's a no brainer.

Knowing what I know today....

Options from FFR

I would do the IRS...I do alot of street driving. Been on the road course once and the drags once. So the IRS would be more comfortable.

I would still go with the PS Engineering wheels.

I would stay Carb'd

I would still do the Autometer gauges

I would add a heater, top and wipers.

4 into 4 header system

Hood hinge

Body cutouts

battery cutoff switch

full front hoop system rear just over riders

Get the most popular seats and then sell them.

I'm in Houston, well Atascocitta any way I have the IRS and liked building it. I just put the body on yesterday so I have not driven it yet. All the damn rain kept me from even go carting it.
After the $2,000 from FFR you can expect to pay about $300 to $350 for the T Bird rear, IF you have a shop swap axels and cv's that another $100.
If you rebuild the clutch pac your self you will save $250. If you need to replace the rear brakes that will run you about $ 240 from Disc Brakes R Us. After brake lines and all I have $3000 or so in mine. But I wanted a great road car and good resale if ever I were to sell it. Your more than welcome to come by sometime and check out the car.

If I knew that I was going with a 5 lug wheel pattern, what would I specifically say to FFR when I order my IRS?

Might order kit this week!!!!!

Although many people seem to prefer going the POR-15 route, I think the chassis powder coating is a MUST. The finish is terrific and providing you have either bought the FFR LCA's for the front or got your donor LCA's cleaned up you can start actual construction immediately. This I found to be a great mental boost and will cut build time down by a few weeks. Just my .02

lets add a twist here I also have a 514 non FE its a 385 series motor that I am going to be using, I plan on going to the track a few times, would you still use a Mark VIII with the aluminum pumpkin or go with a 3 link setup? Also this car will not see many miles only weekend time.
