Here is Part 1

I ordered the Polycarbonate from McMaster Carr, and I think it turned out pretty good. I thought the original weren't wide enough, so I took the opportunity to customize things.

They are not as dark as the originals - but thats OK, I mainly use them as wind deflectors. I guess I could always add some tinting from Pep Boys. For now, the edge is just lightly sanded - I am going to look into the chemical treatment when I get a chance. They sure a lot 'beefier' and the price was right ($15 vs $40)

NICE JOB JOHN,
I need to get visors and I would like to start out with the thicker material than have one of the thinner ones crack. Do you know where to purchase the hardware only?

If you have a scrape peice, sand the edge and use a propane torch on the edge. it should smooth it out

You can get just the hardware from Finish Line for $59 Maybe somebody else knows of a cheaper source - thats a lot of money for what your get

I tried the torch thing - but it just didn't work for me

Try wet sanded with very fine grit paper and then use toothpaste to buff to a glass like finish
