Hello everyone!! Here's a problem. Under hard braking, I mean very hard braking, I get a very wierd, loud grinding sound that seems like it is coming from the tranny tunnel. I first thought it might be something with my e-brake, but would it make that kind of noise? It sounds like grinding gears. Any thoughts? thanks for the help. Martin

First check all the brakes for excessive wear and evidense of metal to metal contact. Anothing thing to try, based on your description, check all motor mounts and bolts. Check drive shaft bolts for tightness.

I experienced yokes making contact under heavy binder but that is a fast pitch thump or knock.
