This may sound crazy but it works. The booster is bakelite plastic and has tiny air bubbles trapped in it. I heated mine with a propane torch. The air expands and shatters the booster. You may have to pursuade it with a hammer after it's hot but it'll break up real easy. Just wear safety glasses if you use this method.
I used the stock Buick pushrod. Worked great, but you have to make a new pivot, which is not as hard as it sounds. I did not want to attempt to remove the Buick pushrod in case there was a warranty problem later on.
