I'm considering having my roadster stiped this winter after driving for a year without stripes.
I recently saw the stripe decals for sale at Finish Lines
for $79.
Are these anywhere as nice as the painted stripes done by the body shopes? How difficult to apply etc. Any advice or comments are appreciated. Thx B.W.

I haven't seen them, but I can't imagine they're going to compare at all with a painted stripe that's got a smooth clearcoat over it.

Still, the price is really attractive. And as long as your paint doesn't age differently, it would be nice for you that they are removable if you get tired of them later on.

Let us know what you decide to do and if you're happy with the decals.

Cheers, John

I bought them, but was not pleased with them. They were of really good quality, but I didn't like the way they stopped at the top of the trunk. I am told by the manufacturer it is difficult to shape them correctly to match the lines and shape of the trunk. I ended up haveing them painted on.

gomarlins car looks great with the painted stripes, even Dick Smith thought that it looks great. Dick was at the Fresno City College event (he played football in college) and the local Mustang club drove in the halftime parade. Gomarlins car was the one everyone wanted to be seen in.

If you are considering adding strips to your car, after it has been painted it's a nice way to see if you like the looks.

If you go with the stripes a tip, front and rear find the center line on your car body, then get some 1" blue house paint masking tape - home depot or lowes. Run that tape right up the middle of the car and use it to place the stripes! It makes it fast to install them and get them on straight!

Thanks for the replys. After seeing gomarlins3 stripe photos I believe that the painted on stripes may be worth the expense.
Will have to go back to my painter and hope its not to expensive.
