I'm debating if I should permanently install the dash before I put the body on the frame. Is this a good idea or I am asking for the dash to get torn up when installing the body?
My dash is held by only one screw right in the center. During the build I always kept the dash in place and held it with a 1/8" clecoe. Just took a little extra care when lowering and removing the body, which is easy to do with 4 people.
Chris, if this is the first time insalling the dash, it should be done with the body on so you know how far up to push it. If you prefitted the dash (you know where it needs to be) then yes you can permanantly mount it. I used some string to tie the ends in so they wouldn't be in the way when the body was lowered on.
