I mounted the body last night and still need to install side bolts but the inner fenders at the top don't touch the rubber insulation on top of aluminum on either side of the trunk. Body has been on buck for a year. Will it settle in time? Should I put weights on it? Don

Sometimes there's interference just above the door latches, about where your left shoulder would be, sitting in the drivers seat. The body will hit the triangulated (did I say that?) frame on both sides of the cockpit. Are the body mount holes close to matching the frame holes?

Racer Don,

I was there last weekend. Just as Rob mentioned I was hung up. Real bad actually. The passenger side was very good but Drivers side was off about 2" took out dremel and started to grind. Found I would have to go through the body to get it to fit right... Took a little off each side and when body is back off for painting I will wack the frame..

Keep in mind that the rear quick jack mounts also play a big role in the overall placement of the body. I have seen FFRs where the gap between the aluminum and the body was too large to be adjusted out. In that case, you have to make a shim to extend the aluminum, or get creative with the calking.

Thanks Wade, after looking at all options last night I am going to add from 0 to 1/2 to 0 on both sides of the trunk. With all of the complaints about water and air leaks I have a lot of work ahead of me.Don

If the side holes lined up when the car was delivered, it would worry me that it does not NOW.
