I have a body buck, designed to FFR's specs with a few modifications.

1. It has caster wheels so it can be easily rolled around the shop.
2. It has "handles" (2X4"posts)that stick out from the wheel well areas so it can be lifted by four people or secured to a trailer.
3. It also has eye hooks in the "handles" so the whole thing can be lifted off of the ground by an overhead winch. These are also good for securing the buck to the trailer.

The only stipulation is that you come pick it up.

I live in Anderson, SC. It is about a 10-20 minute drive from exit 19 on Interstate 85. I will meet you at the exit and you can follow me to my house. Please e-mail me at [email protected] . First interested person to contact me gets the buck.

Sorry about the e-mail Steve, try [email protected] .

You could take it apart pretty easily where the two front and back pieces are nailed onto the two horizontal rails. Although it is designed to fit into a small trailer, I do not have the dimensions handy. It probably would be easier to just take apart into the four main pieces and you could just nail it back into place later. This way it would fit into a truck bed pretty handily.

I can get you the dimensions by Wednesday if you are interested in just towing it on a trailer.

I was thinking I would try to fit it in the back of a minivan, if it came apart. Without the seats I do have 8' by 4'. If there is anything longer I could put it on the roof rack. What do you think?

That would probably work if it was dissasembled. There would be 5 or 6 pieces, but I think that the longest piece is under 6-7 feet. I am free the next two weekends so e-mail me at the mindspring address and I will give you more information (phone #, etc.) so we can meet. I will try to have the buck knocked apart by then as well.

Steve,

You're too quick...the one day I'm away from the board and free body buck pops up! The timing of this body buck couldn't have been better for you. I'm going to start building mine this week in the evenings.

Enjoy the road trip! So, did you bump up the delivery date yet?

Drew,

If you want the buck, you can take it. I am looking at my schedule, and I am not exactly sure when I would be able to get down to get it. I don't want to hold fourcammer281 up. I may be better off building one an hour at a time than trying to get over there-this is a busy month for me. I am trying to get all my homeowners chores done before FFR#???? arrives.
Let me know what you decide.

Steve and Fourcammer,

Like you Steve, I'll probably spend and hour here and there over the next couple of weekends to make one. Besides, I've already invested in the 4 casters from Harbor Freight and a set of full-size blueprints.

I'll pass the buck. (Pun intended!) I was hoping to have to make a business trip to Atlanta this week, but I think that possibly is pretty slim at this point.

If the body buck is still avaliable, I can pick it up this weekend. I live just a few miles out of Spartanburg S.C. and would be more than happy to take it off your hands.
